Development Update: Introducing Barclaycard ePDQ

30 August 2017 23:26

iPages gives you the ability to process card payments on your e-commerce website checkout, along with accepting PayPal payments, offline and account payments.

Currently card payments are taken through an integration with MONEK-UPG. We are excited to announce that you can now also use Barclaycard ePDQ to process card payments.

What is Barclaycard ePDQ?

ePDQ is Barclaycards online solution for accepting cards over the internet. It is an end-to-end solution that provides a secure service for card payment authorisation and settlement and is ideal for Barclaycard merchant account holders who wish to take internet payments.

PDQ stands for Process Data Quickly', so ePDQ is Barclaycards online data processing method.

Payments to your merchant account can be accepted from the following cards - American Express, Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Switch (including Solo) and JCB. Maestro can be accepted, if the merchant is using Internet Authentication (MasterCard SecureCode).

How is Barclaycard different to other payment processors?

Barclaycard ePDQ is similar to other online payment processors however, you are required to have account directly with Barclays and they will charge you separately for transactions.

How can I benefit from this integration?

The integration is being rolled out as part of the upcoming iPages update. To get started with Barclaycard, you'll need to speak to Barclaycard directly and setup an account with them. It's then simply a case of entering your account details into the iPages admin area, and you're away!

As this is direct integration, your customers will not be directed away from the checkout to take card payment (i.e. you'll be able to take card payments within the one-page checkout!) and still benefit from using Barclaycard.

As this integration is being included in the iPages update, there is no additional development fees to our clients for using this and the integration is going to be instantly available to all our clients.
